State of Texas v. Billy Ray Hill - NOT GUILTY

An innocent man is charged with capital murder of a child in East Texas. The State abandoned attempts to seek the death penalty, and on the day of trial chose to try Mr. Hill on First Degree Felony Injury to a Child. After a two week trial, the jury returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY in less than 4.5 hours.

United States v. Nguyen - DISMISSED IN TRIAL

In a media drug case involving a Houston area high school teacher, David Michael Ryan teamed up with Dan Cogdell to defend a young man accused of being the supplier in a drug conspiracy and distribution case. All the others charged pleaded guilty, but Cogdell and Ryan took their case to trial. The government DISMISSED the case on the second day of trial, even though several FBI agents and the high school teacher had already testified.
